Lorain City Schools Arts Academy

This program was offered by generous support from Lorain City Schools and The Nord Family Foundation. 

The Lorain City Schools Arts Academy was the first program of Oberlin Center for the Arts, a partnership with Lorain City Schools and in coordination with the Boys and Girls Club of Lorain County. What began as a pilot initiative with 27 participating students in the basement of St. Mary's Church, this program grew to serve more than 80 - 3rd through 5th grade students each semester through after-school arts enrichment activities, including; 

  • Visual Arts instruction with FAVA
  • Theatre and Drama instruction with The MAD* Factory
  • Choral Music Instruction with Oberlin Choristers
  • Instrumental Music instruction with NOYO
  • Dance instruction with Neos Center for Dance

Participating students also receive wrap around support including snacks and homework assistance each day.

This program was discontinued in August 2018.
