Oberlin Center for the Arts

Artist Recital Series: Russian Rennasaince

February 28 from 7:30pm - 9:30pm

An artist recital by the Russian Renaissance featuring performers Ivan Kuznestiv, balalaika, Anastasia Zakharova, dorma/dorma alto, Alexander Tarasov, button accordion, and Ivan Vinogradov, balalaika contrabasso.

Russian Renaissance takes performance on traditional folk instruments to the next level, modernizing the sound and making it vibrant and enticing. We marry tradition and modernity, creating a fusion of styles and eras. In our concerts, we explore new expressive techniques and genres that are not necessarily typical for Russian folk instruments in order to extend the repertoire.
